DaVinci Code Hot Spots
If you have any source of news to the outside world then you have been flooded with news, articles, ads, and blurbs about the new movie The DaVinci Code. Based on Dan Brown’s 2003 novel, the movie tells a story of the Catholic Church trying to hide the truth about Jesus Christ, who they claim, married Mary Magdalene and had children with her.
This book and movie has taken America by storm and is definitely the most talked about film release so far this year. Whether or not you are a die-hard Dan Brown fan, there is no doubt you would love to travel to the European countryside and visit the DaVinci Code hot spots: London and Paris. While traveling, be sure to visit these famous tourist attractions:
London
Buckingham Palace – Since the Victorian era, this palace has been the home to the London royals. Filled with many fine pieces of art and furniture, and surrounded by lush gardens and foliage, this is a must see when visiting London.
Westminster Abbey – This ancient abbey, built in the 13th century, is the burial site for most of the ancient English monarchs. Nowadays the abbey hosts many events every year including choir & concerts, music and church services, and hosts an extensive library.
Notting Hill – Made more known by the romantic 1999 flick by the same name, this little neighborhood in London is perfect for tourists. Filled with many quaint restaurants, cafes, and shops, walking around this village in London will keep you busy for hours.
Paris, France
Eiffel Tower – This symbol of French pride is widely known throughout the world as the attraction to visit, no matter how close you are to Paris. Millions visit France every year to view this popular architectural building.
Musee du Louvre – This museum is considered the grand daddy of museums. “The Louvre” as it is affectionately called, it by far the most popular and widely known art museum in the world. Among many famous paintings, the Louvre houses the famous Leonardo da Vinci work Mona Lisa.
Notre Dame Cathedral – Built in the gothic period in the 12th century, this famous cathedral has been the center place for many monumental occasions, including the crowning of Henri VI and the celebration of Mass by Pope John Paul II. Although the crowds may be daunting, this is a must see attraction when visiting Paris.
