JetBlue Airways
Jetblue is an amazing airline. The founder of the company is a man named David Neeleman, who has a unique philosophy and attitude. This attitude is evident as you watch the employees. Jetblue has focused on a discount airline model with an upscale level of service. It is really a SouthWest Air on steroids. I am always amazed as I see the airline pilots as well as the stewardess cleaning the cabin after each flight. All of the planes are the same make and model, everything is electronic. All of this leads to savings that is passed on to you.
The top tips I can share with you on JetBlue are:
- Focus on hub cities. The schedules of Jetblue on destination cities are not as flexible. Most of the service routes are in the North East USA.
- Book online. Online you will save about $5 per ticket.
- Check a few days before and after your desired travel dates. Ticket prices are bumped up as the plane reaches more capacity.
- Book far in advance. It amazes me every time I fly Jetblue how fully booked the flights are. They are really doing well.
- Enter that Frequent Flyer Number every time you fly. On Jetblue they track by points, not miles. Simply put, 100 points equals 1 round trip ticket. They do not deal with all the crazy rules that the other airlines have.
- Check out the travel deals section of their web site. They have some great packages.
- Jetblue is adding new cities frequently. If you fly into one of those new cities, they offer amazing deals.
- Connections with JetBlue are difficult. I would recommend that you use Jetblue as a direct flight if at all possible. Generally Jetblue is not a good option if you have difficult connections.
